My heart beats to the rhythm of your voice
by James Girvin

Thump, thump; thump, thump…

What is that I hear?
It's the sound of my heart whenever you are near.

Faster and faster, my heart begins to burst.
It's only you, my love, who can quench my thirst.

Because when you walk by, I get weak in the knees,
Which can only be explained by the birds and the bees.

I need you in my life more than peanut butter needs jelly
Or more than mainstream rap needs sellouts like Nelly

Your presence always makes me very, very nervous.
So much so that I sometimes can't think of words that rhyme.

So basically, my dear, all I want to say
Is I really love you - why did you have to turn out to be gay?
